Problem & Solution Description (max 100 words)

MOM's Bridge addresses the critical communication barrier faced by non-English-speaking pregnant women living in South Korea. These mothers -- many of whom speak Vietnamese, Russian, Chinese, Tagalog, Thai, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, or German -- struggle to describe pregnancy symptoms to Korean-speaking healthcare providers, risking delayed care and dangerous misunderstandings. MOM's Bridge is a multilingual web app that uses Google Gemini AI to translate symptom descriptions, analyze uploaded medical photos, and convert voice input into Korean doctor-ready summaries. It also provides daily fetal movement and contraction tracking, emergency keyword detection with automatic alerts, and community health analytics -- all in the mother's native language.

Ethics Explanation (max 150 words)

Data Privacy: MOM's Bridge implements informed consent at registration, transparent data storage viewable on the 'My Data' page, individual record deletion, full account deletion with cascade, and JSON data export. A translated Privacy Policy is accessible without login. Third-party data disclosure (Gemini API) is documented.

Accessibility: 11 languages with browser auto-detection via Accept-Language header. Dynamic HTML lang attribute for screen readers. Language switcher on all public pages.

AI Safety: A dedicated AI Ethics & Safety Policy page documents the AI model, prompts, privacy safeguards, bias mitigation, error handling, and limitations. Emergency detection uses deterministic keyword matching (never AI) for safety-critical decisions. Daily tracking risk advisories use rule-based ACOG guidelines, not AI predictions.
